THE HUGS AND HOPE CLUB is a tax-exempt 501-c-3 charity
Many people give money or property items to help out a good cause. What you donate is tax deductible when giving to an authorized charity such as HUGS and HOPE. If you are giving a small donation less than $250, a receipt for the IRS is not required. If you donate larger items, such as automobiles or property, you will need a certified appraisal.You will need to itemize your tax deductions on the 1040 form. The IRS expects you to file for the tax deduction in the same year as the donation.

There are many other ways you can contribute to help the sick children featured on the Hugs and Hope Club site too, such as sending birthday party boxes, or sewing blankets. We can always use more help, and there is nothing that compares to the personal satisfaction of helping children. For more ideas, see our volunteer opportunities page.
