Elizabeth was a preemie, born with a variety of problems.
She spent the first weeks of her life in the hospital and she was on
a ventilator for six weeks. Besides CP, she had
Periventricular Leukomalacia and a tear in her
esophagus. She still needs a "g-tube" to get nourishment (pediasure)
into her stomach, to keep her weight up.
Elizabeth had surgery to correct her acid reflux disease,
and she had surgery on her legs. Her movement is limited, as
she has trouble sitting up by herself. Rather than going to
school, Elizabeth is taught at home, and she loves getting mail.
She also likes "girlie" things.
Elizabeth has two brothers, pictured with her below. Their
home recently burned down and they lost everything. All three
could use some cheering up. Please drop them a card or small
gift.
