Eric's mom, Stacey, has been a HUGS and HOPE volunteer for
several years. Each year, she is one of our elf helpers and
"adopts" one of our club kids for Christmas. She never thought
she would be on the other end of Hugs and Hope, enrolling her son as
one of our featured children.

Here is Eric's story, as told by his mom:
We were shocked when, in November of 2009, he was diagnosed with
Cystic Fibrosis. Eric has taken this news and started to
fight. Every day is a struggle to breathe for him, but he
keeps going. He lives every day to the fullest.
Eric has an amazing doctor. She has taught him how to
control his disease; and he learns something new every time we see
her.
Eric is a smart little boy. He knows there is no cure for his
disease, but he refuses to accept that. He has done seminars
to educate people and show them what he goes through on a daily
basic, with medications and machines. (Eric also has acute colitis
and migraines.)
Eric is a very outgoing little boy. He is kind and
considerate to everyone he comes into contact with. He is an
inspiration to his entire family.
