Ethan's problems began at birth. He spent his first days in the Intensive Care unit. He has Dandy Walker Malformation, which is a congenital brain malformation that basically means he has a cyst on his cerebellum. This interferes with his body's ability to drain the cerebrospinal fluid from the brain, which results in hydrocephalus.

Barometic pressure causes Ethan headaches, so he's miserable when it storms. He trips a lot and Autism complicates his problems even more. Ethan is not potty trained and cannot feed himself. His skill level is that of an 18-24 month old baby.
