How Donations Are Spent
THE HUGS AND HOPE CLUB is a tax-exempt 501-c-3 charity Donations we receive go toward purchasing beanie bears for each of our featured children, Bibles for kids and adults, and postage and envelopes to mail the Bibles and our bears, as well as postage to send toys that are donated to us (we have some adorable little cars that say "You are loved" on the hood, and we have "chemo dolls" which are bald and come with a hat.)We also pay to have brochures printed, which we put in hospital and clinic waiting rooms, etc. (If you'd like some brochures to pass out, please email us with a mailing address and we'll send some to you) Sometimes we use money from our account to purchase Christmas gifts, if volunteer elves back out at the last minute and we can't find anyone to replace them. The same goes for birthday boxes. We have a lot of great,
generous people who provide a birthday party in a box and Christmas gifts,
but sometimes one or two will commit to providing gifts but then don't send
them. That's when it's sometimes necessary , at the last minute, for HUGS
and HOPE funds to be used to purchase goodies so the child won't be
disappointed. There are many other ways you can contribute to help the sick children featured on the Hugs and Hope Club site too, such as sending birthday party boxes, or sewing blankets. We can always use more help, and there is nothing that compares to the personal satisfaction of helping children. For more ideas, see our volunteer opportunities page.
Send some
joy to a sick child!
