Jay was diagnosed with leukemia in October of 2005. From that
day on, his family's life was turned upside down. In the past
seven months, he's been hospitalized three times and had three blood
transfusions. He takes a lot of medication, gets spinal blocks
and lumbar punctures, takes chemo through a port in his chest, and
often needs IV antibiotics and fluids.
Though Jay is now in remission, he'll be in treatment for three
years.

Jay's family has had one tragedy after another. In the past
five months, Jay's grandpa passed away after a long, painful fight
with Leukemia, his mother was diagnosed with hemangionoma (liver
tumors) and his dad's company went on strike, leaving him out of
work for nearly two months.
