Kaitlyn has been sick since she was a newborn. At three days old, she began having trouble breathing. That was just the beginning of a long and frustrating three years of constant illness. She was tested for everything.

She never breathed through her nose till she was two years old (after having over 20 surgeries).

Six years ago, Kaitlyn started IVIG infusions (blood plasma product given by donors). The treatments give her more energy, and she feels much better. She gets a treatment once a month and uses four inhalers daily for asthma. She gets tired of it all and asks why she was born this way.

Kaitlyn is homeschooled, since she can't be around groups of people because of the germs. . She's in third grade and she has two dogs (Golden Retriever and Black Lab) and two Calico cats.
