HEYYOU.........ListenUp!
Eternity may be closer than you think! What if you have a car accident or a heart attack tomorrow? Can you afford to put Jesus off? Do you want to find yourself in the same situation as the man referred to in the bible with these words? "But God said onto him: Thou fool. This night thy soul shall be required of thee." Luke12:20
You'd better make sure your reservation for heaven is made and your name is written in God's book of life.
WHO needs salvation?
WHAT will happen to them?
WHY? Hell is no place to spend eternity (eternity is a long time. I think it is approximately . . . ah . . . let's see . . . FOREVER!) The million dollar question is: Are you saved? It is not
a question of how good you are, whether you attend religious services
regularly, or which denomination you belong to. The question is: Are you
sure you will go to Heaven when you die? God gave us His plan of how to be born again which means to be saved. That plan is so simple that people often don't want to follow God's direction! They prefer to come up with more complicated methods that sound "holier."
Hell is real - whether you believe it to be a place of fire and brimstone - or just an existence apart from God. Whatever it is, I don't want to go there; and it's not anyplace that anyone would enjoy, so I doubt that you want to spend eternity there either.
Jesus said "I am the way . . . No man comes to the Father but by me. " (John 14:6) Jesus died as the ultimate sacrifice for YOUR sins. He wants you to receive forgiveness for those sins and become a child of God and inherit heaven. HIS WAY is the ONLY way. HIS WAY:
BUT I'm a good person!
SALVATION is God's gift to us When someone offers you a free gift, you must RECEIVE it. You must take it from them and open it up for it to actually become yours. The same is true for God's gift of salvation. He offers it to us, but it is not ours until we accept it.
HOW do we accept the gift? "REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED for the forgiveness of sins and the you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38) "He who BELIEVES AND IS BAPTIZED will be saved." (Mark 16:16) "By the one spirit we are BAPTIZED into one body" (the body of Christ is his church, so we enter into the church when we are baptized) (1 Corinthians 12:13) "We are buried with Christ through BAPTISM and raised to walk in newness of life." (At our baptism we re-enact Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. We DIE to sin and are BURIED in the water, when we RISE out of the water, we are new creatures with new life in Christ.) (Romans 6:4 and Colossians 2:12) 1 Peter 3: 21, "BAPTISM now saves us . . . by the resurrection of Jesus Christ."
SO . . . Don't just take my word for it, look it up!
